The Department of Information Science and Engineering (ISE) is an integral part of M. S. Engineering College, Bengaluru, dedicated to nurturing the technical skills and innovative potential of aspiring engineers. Established in the academic year 2002 with an initial intake of 60 students, the department has grown significantly and currently offers an intake of 180 students for the B.E. program and 9 students for the M.Tech. program.

The department offers a four-year Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) program and a two-year Master of Technology (M.Tech.) program, both affiliated with Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU), Belagavi, and approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi. The curriculum is designed to provide students with a strong foundation in information science, computing technologies, and problem-solving skills required for successful careers in the IT industry.

The department places special emphasis on developing students’ learning abilities, conceptual understanding of core computing subjects, and advanced programming skills. Through a combination of theoretical knowledge and practical exposure, students are encouraged to enhance their analytical thinking, innovation, and technical expertise.

The faculty members are highly qualified, experienced, and committed to academic excellence. To stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends, faculty members regularly participate in training programs, workshops, seminars, and research activities. The department also maintains strong collaborations and Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with leading technology companies and industries, providing students with opportunities for internships, industry interaction, and hands-on learning experiences.
