ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT
The Department of Computer Science and Engineering is an integral part of M.S. Engineering College, Bengaluru aims at bringing out the technical and inherent talents of the young and budding Engineers. The Department was established in the academic year 2002 with intake of 60.Current intake of BE is 180 and MTech is 9. We are offering a four year BE & Two year MTech Degree Program affiliated with Visvesvaraya Technological University, Belagavi and approved by AICTE, New Delhi. Department of Computer Science and Engineering takes special efforts to impart learning ability for the students. The students are focused with the use of conceptual understanding of core domain area in Computing as well as enhanced programming skills disseminating their analytical abilities. The faculties of our department are well qualified and have rich knowledge in their subjects. In order to update their knowledge The staff members are deputed to undergo training in the latest topics. Department has good interactions and MOUs with leading technology domain Industries. Department is committed to encourage students/researchers to carry out innovative research in the field of Computer Science & Engineering , keeping excellence in focus and deliver quality services to match the needs of the technical education system, industry and society.

- • Engineering Knowledge Apply the knowledge of mathematics, science, engineering Fundamentals, and an engineering specialization to the solution of complex engineering problems.
- • Problem Analysis: Identify, formulate, review research literature, and analyze complex engineering problems reaching substantiated conclusions using first principles of mathematics, natural sciences, and engineering sciences.
- • Design/ Development of Solutions: Design solutions for complex engineering problems and design system components or processes that meet the specified needs with appropriate consideration for the public health and safety, and the cultural, societal, and environmental considerations.
- • Conduct Investigations of Complex Problems: Use research-based knowledge and research design of experiments, analysis and interpretation of data, and synthesis of the information to provide valid conclusions.

On behalf of the faculty members, staff, and students of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering of M S Engineering College(MSEC) at Bengaluru, I welcome you all to the creative world of CSE. I believe the CSE discipline has been widely recognized as an essential source and technique for the advancements in all spheres of human Endeavour now and in future. In MSEC all the students gets the opportunity to excel in their academic activities.
The department offers BE (CSE) and M-Tech(CSE). The aim of the department is to provide high quality education along with training the students with all the new advancements in the computers field. The department places emphasis on all the important aspects of computers such as High speed networks, Machine Learning, Natural Language Processing, Web Technology, mobile networks , Algorithm Design, Operational research, Advance database systems, Theory of computation , Computer Graphics and many more. The department also takes initiative to improve the soft skills, analytical capabilities and verbal communication of the students so that they can face the competition in the corporate world confidently.
Our faculty and students are constantly striving to excel and to advance the state of the art in Computer Science and Engineering. We strongly encourage innovation in research, in teaching and in service to the profession, the local community and industry. Why Computer Science & Engineering
The department is helping the students in getting exposure to cutting edge technologies by means of organizing industrial visits and technical talks from domain experts of reputed research organizations. The students are encouraged to involve themselves in creative, technical and research activities. Numerous companies from India employ huge number of computer professionals in their Indian and overseas offices. Therefore, students who complete this program successfully have industrial career opportunities in the technical areas as: Software Engineer, Systems Engineer, Software Developer, Java Developer, Business Analyst, NET Developer, Web Developer, Systems Administrator, Project Manager, Network Engineer and so on. As an alternative career path, the successful student can continue his/her postgraduate education in engineering or management. He / She may also become an entrepreneur.

- •Funding mostly external, fragmented and multi-source, making the conducting of basic research more difficult.
- •Much publishing at conferences, computer and information sciences therefore not completely commensurable with other disciplines.
- •Difficulties in securing funding for maintenance and acquisition of medium-priced infrastructures as well as for programming laboratories.
Opportunities:

- • Industry institute interactive learning to prepare industry ready candidates.

DAA & DS LAB
To prepare Students to excel in developing programs by illustrating the different data structure concepts and algorithm design strategies. To provide Students with solid foundation in concepts of Data structure and C programming and algorithms.

- • Design algorithms using appropriate design techniques (brute-force, greedy, dynamic programming, etc.)
- • Implement a variety of algorithms such assorting, graph related, combinatorial, etc., in a high level language.

COMPUTER GRAPHICS LAB
To prepare Students to excel in Computer Graphics and Visualization using Application Program Interface(API, OPENGL) and to have a successful careers as software engineers at Indian or multinational companies. To provide Students with solid foundation in Computer Graphics and Visualization, Rasterization, Primitive assembling, Fragmentation, Geometric transformations, viewing and projections, color models and visual surface detection. To train the Students to effectively comprehend, analyze, design and construct Computer Graphics and Visualization applications. Analyze the insights of the Internet programming to design complete applications over the web. Illustrate the usage of the integrated development environment tool called NETBEANS. Explain the syntax and usage of the development tools like HTML, XHTML, DHTML, CSS, and JavaScript for simple web page development. Illustrate the development of the web applications for different end users by using set of development tools like HTML, XHTML, DHTML, CSS, and JavaScript. Evaluate the static web contents and dynamic web contents.
